Just in case you thought you were the only one
who didn't know, I got several emails asking....
  "At the risk of sounding really dumb I have to ask,
   what exactually is a Hittite???? I love all of your
   jokes and I think the Hittite ones are funny, but I
   am sure that they would make more sense if I knew what
   a Hittite was."

Well, the Hittites were a race of people mentioned in the Bible
(specifically, the Old Testament).  The Hittites died out long ago,
and thus cannot be upset if jokes are told about them.  Jokes about
the Irish or about blondes are often demeaning and cruel, but some
can be salvaged if they are rewritten for a Hittite.

It's important to have roots.

It's more important to be honest than poplar.
